Elections of TEA Officers Top the RA Agenda

Hundreds of delegates from local affiliates across Tennessee and student chapters on college campuses are expected to attend the annual business meeting of the Tennessee Education Association set for May 11-12 at the Nashville Convention Center.

Elections of TEA President, Vice President and NEA Director for Tennessee top the agenda of the TEA Representative Assembly.  Elections will also be held for eight seats on the TEA Board of Directors and several other offices.

A highlight of Friday evening’s session will be an address by NEA President Dennis Van Roekel as well as nominations for all offices.  Balloting for all contested seats will take place Saturday morning between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m.

Also on the RA agenda are recognition of award winners, adoption of the legislative program and budget, and consideration of proposed resolutions and new business items.
