New and nearly new teachers are invited to attend TEA's New Teacher Conference. Offering two different programs on both dates in 2011-2012. Attend one track on either date, or attend both tracks at a discounted rate. Earn six hours of professional development credit while strengthening your practice to enhance your success as a teacher.

Who:
This conference is recommended for new and nearly new teachers who are in their first three years of teaching. (It is not open to STEA members.) Participation is limited. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sessions:
Track 1: "I Can Do It!" - classroom management training - An interactive, highly acclaimed program addressing classroom transitions, reinforcements, rules and routines, dealing with difficult behavior and more - all designed especially for the less experienced teacher.
Track 2: The Road to Success, a series of three sessions
Differentiated instruction strategies for classroom success Learn practical tools and techniques for implementing differentiated instruction to improve learning opportunities for every student.
Professionalism and education: A common sense approach Learn where the danger zones are in teacher-student relationships and how to avoid them.
Your annual teacher evaluation: Making the process work for you Learn how to survive your annual evaluation—irrespective of the model your district may be using - and make the process work for you.

$40 advance registration fee for each day-long conference includes all materials and lunch.
