Cherie Oakley moved to Nashville in 2002 and began developing her skills as a songwriter while she sang demos around town. She began touring as a background vocalist for Carrie Underwood promoting the album “Some Hearts”. She then toured for the next 3 years as a background vocalist with the “Redneck Woman” herself, Gretchen Wilson. You can hear Cherie on various records and singles such as Reba McEntire’s “All The Women I Am”, Gretchen Wilson’s “I Got Your Country Right Here”, and One Tree Hill’s Jana Kramer’s new single “Whiskey”. Opening 2011, Cherie celebrated her first #1 hit as a songwriter with “Turn On the Radio”, released by Reba McEntire. She was most recently a contestant on NBC’s hit show “The Voice” where she was chosen by Christina Aguilera. Cherie is currently focused on songwriting and developing her solo career as an artist and looks forward to releasing her debut album this year.
