Instruction and Professional Development (IPD) provides important professional development to help educators improve their skills, competencies and student achievement. IPD workshops are designed to deal with teacher evaluation, certification, ESEA/NCLB, IDEA, classroom management, PRAXIS, teaching strategies, diversity, and more.  

 

The Division is also responsible for:

 

  • Distinguished Educators Awards Program (DEAP)
  • Future Teachers of America (FTA)
  • IPD Commission
  • Parental Involvement publications
  • Spring Symposium on professional renewal and reflection
  • Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA)
  • Support for members pursuing National Board Certification through National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS)
