Empowering Coaches

Mike Dennis, Metro Nashville Education Association teacher and coach, knows the importance of being a team player. The association negotiates supplements for coaching positions because of the extra time spent after school hours. He believes it is his responsibility to be a supportive association member.

Coaches love the game and the spirit of competition. We also know the importance of working as a team. I am glad to be a part of my association TEAm. I value my membership in the TEA and realize that the association is working on my behalf both in the classroom and on the court.

Shelby County Education Association

As a coach, the value of membership has never been more important than now. Supplements are being lowered or eliminated, liability issues are more prevalent, and the lack of adequate athletic funding is a growing concern. I need the security provided by being a member of the Association team.

Sumner County Education Association

Coaches are teachers too!
I decided to become involved in my Association because being a member allows the unique issues that impact coaches to be heard and addressed. My association is the best advocate a coach could have.

Mike Wilson
Elizabethton Education Association

I love coaching…the reward of seeing students execute new skills, the excitement of the competition, the achievement of true camaraderie, the leadership abilities that I see emerging—all are elements of being a coach. But these experiences are open to me only because I know that someone’s got my back. I know that another team is looking out for me and my professional interests. My association team is working to protect my rights and further the cause of our public schools. My Association membership…Priceless!
