With new courses added to the online learning portal, TEA is making easier than ever for members to earn state-approved professional development points (PDPs) from the comfort of their own home.
“Among the recently added courses is the ‘First Class Series’ by Dr. Nicole Arrighi,” said TEA Assistant Executive Director Terrance Gibson. “This series offers a success guide for teachers beginning their careers, providing a foundation for a productive first year with sessions on classroom management, engaging families and growing as a professional.”
Available free of charge exclusively to TEA members, the portal can be accessed in the member center of TEAteachers.org and features an education tracker tool that records and monitors learning progress.
Other courses include a guide to a successful parent-teacher conference, 12 ways to promote active learning, classroom ideas, test security specific to Tennessee, and a guide to the Tennessee’s Teacher Code of Ethics.
