The Tennessee Education Association’s Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) is a summer workshop to teach local associations about their roles within the association and how to strengthen their local schools in their community.
The Tennessee Education Association’s Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) will be held June 8 – 10 at Embassy Suites, Cool Springs. This year’s theme is “Catch the Momentum: Leadership with a Sense of Urgency.”
Participants will discover how to use the organizing momentum to move boldly toward the future. Sessions will focus on best practices for local officers and the tools needed to welcome a new generation of educators into the Association. Explore how social justice can connect members of our profession and strengthen our great public schools. Additionally, local associations are encouraged to send team members to learn ways to connect members and potential members to the TEA family through Success with Action Together (SWAT) TEAms. Come and catch the momentum!
The Summer Leadership Academy is open to all TEA members. Many local associations form teams of members to bring to SLA.

The fee for this conference is $99 per participant.
TEA will provide dinner on June 8 and lunch on June 9 and 10 for all registered participants. Breakfast is included with a hotel accommodation.

The deadline for registration is Friday, May 5.
After this date, hotel rooms in the TEA reservation block will be released and discounted room rates will not be guaranteed.
TEA encourages locals to send at least one member who has never attended SLA and/or never held a local office.

All guests (non-participants) must be registered on the participant registration form. If a guest (non-participants) wishes to take conference meals, a check in the amount of $150.00 must be enclosed.
